Intensive English Summer
Course (July)
Larkhill Language Centre offers three-week intensive English
summer courses in July and August.
This is an interactive course which consists of 15 hours of English lessons
per week for a total of 3 weeks.
The course is aimed at anyone who wishes to improve their English language skills
in the following areas:
speaking and listening; reading and writing; communication techniques and pronunciation;
grammar and vocabulary.
The classes are interesting and stimulating and include exercises, discussions
and small-group activities.
Classes are small with a maximum of 10 students and you will be placed in the
appropriate class according to your level.
On completion of the course you will receive a letter of attendance.
In the last week of the course we organise a social evening at a local traditional

To reserve a place on the course you will need to contact us to confirm availability,
then complete the application form
and return it via email or post with a £20 administration fee.
You will then receive confirmation from us. Please note that the minimum age
of attendance is 17 and there is no maximum age.
The course fee is £450, plus a £20 administration fee. For further

Teacher Training and Methodology Course
A two week language and methodology course for teachers of English. To view

General English classes (September
to May)
Each class consists of 2 hours with a maximum of 3 people. The classes
are designed to improve all of the following skills:
speaking and listening; reading and writing; communication techniques and pronunciation;
grammar and vocabulary.
The classes are interactive and allow you to practice all the above skills,
including idioms, colloquial and formal language.
The focus is to learn the functions of the English language so that you can
apply them to practical situations.
We aim to improve your ability to communicate effectively in real life situations.
The classes are interesting and stimulating and include exercises, discussions
and small-group activities.
Business English
English is the language of business and therefore this can be included in all
of the above courses in order to improve the following skills:
general business vocabulary; telephoning, completing forms, meetings, presentations,
writing letters, CVs, emails, faxes, memos, reports and proposals
Qualifications:
Examinations are not compulsory, however there are many different
exams available.
It can be difficult to know which is the best for you. You can discuss this
with your teacher before making a decision.
Some of the most recognised British exams are:
Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE)
Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)
IELTS (for further education or for employment purposes/ professionals)
ICAO (for air traffic controllers and pilots)
